The real reason I hate this "it's like a 10 hour movie" shit in TV now is because the biggest victim (next to pacing) is THEME. Individual episode thematics suffer when your whole conceptual approach to episodes is "they're kinda just chunks of a movie". You aren't having trouble recalling specific episodes of a show bc you binged. It's bc the eps didn't have own identities, thematic purpose. The problem isn't that this approach makes television boring (though it can). It's that it makes it UNMEMORABLE.
